Behind Every Song, Is A Poem.

The best of poems are the ones that show art in life, and even death. But even though it sounds a little dark, death in a poem is one of the best ones because it reveals what the author really wants to say and wants you to kind of understand. The emotional toll puts you in such a position where you are vulnerable to its power. Poetry comes in all types, where you can even find it in songs of all kinds of genres, rap, folk, rock, and many more. I just listened to three different artists/bands
and they are, Mumford and Sons “I Will Wait,” Notorious B.I.G. “Juicy,” and The Beatles “Let It Be.” In “I will wait,” a good part of the song that shows emotion in its lyrics that I remember was, “Well, I came home, like a stone, and I fell heavy into your arms. These days of darkness, which we've known, will blow away with this new sun.” I listen to that part as if the writers of this song was going for an inspirational moment where he probably was in war and came back home and reunited with his wife and all that negative that was in their lives, will fade away. In “Juicy,” a good part of the song that showed inspiration in its lyrics that I remember was, “We used to fuss when the landlord dissed us, no heat, wonder why Christmas missed us. Birthdays was the worst days, now we sip champagne when we thirst-ay. Uh, damn right I like the life I live, 'cause I went from negative to positive and it's all...” I listen to this as if the writer wanted to show that there is no roof to success, and he accomplished his dreams. In “Let It Be,” a good part of the song that showed faith and hope was, “When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be. And in my hour of darkness, she is standing right in front of me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be.” I listen to this as if the writers were trying to tell people that in times of turmoil and suffering, the hope and faith is always there, and if things that are unfortunate do happen, then you just have to let it happen, there’s nothing you can do about it. All types of poetry in a song are hard to find, but when you hear it, it’s a more harmonious feeling. After all, most of these songs can relate in real life situations, such as a soldier coming home from war, like a low class man reaching his dream to become part of the upper class life, or even someone that lost someone and had no idea what to do next and has been brought fate from above. In the end, poetry is bliss, emotional, and most of all, beautiful.
